SCHLIMPOON was born one summer day
When everything I had to say
WAS IN RHYME!
My two little girls, ages one and four
Played in our yard with neighbors galore,
While I sat writing all day long,
Creating SCHLIMPOON, as if writing a song.
I heard her voice, so very soft
And pictured her in clouds aloft.
I wanted her to help the kids in my stories,
To ensure each character got rid of all worries.
There was little Jill, so new in town,
And Julian, too, who was wearing a frown.
Poor Peter had his own fears
And Jim was found almost in tears.
Jealousy was a huge problem for some.
That made them happy when SCHLIMPOON did come!
A messy room was Sindy’s tale.
SCHLIMPOON came along so she wouldn’t fail.
Michelle, Joel and Cheryl hated going to bed
Until SCHLIMPOON came along and guess what she said!
Left out as the youngest in the neighborhood,
Melissa took SCHLIMPOON’s advice and it was good!
And then there was Claire,
Who loved the beach and fresh air.
Her problem was tough,
But SCHLIMPOON helped just enough!
This is just a little taste
Of the problems that SCHLIMPOON faced.
Her kindness and wit
And solutions wouldn’t quit!

WHO ALWAYS TRIES TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT:
SHE WAS PINK, GREEN, AND YELLOW
CERTAINLY NOT A FELLOW,
BECAUSE OF THE SANDALS SHE WAS WEARING,
AND THE SUNGLASSES THROUGH WHICH SHE WAS STARING.
